My Priorities
The everyday things that make a city work.
City government touches so much of our everyday lives, from the streets we walk on and the homes we can afford to the parks where we gather and the local businesses we love.
My priorities are focused on making those everyday things work better, while building a city government that plans responsibly, listens to its residents, and prepares Milwaukie for the future.
Milwaukie should be a place you can afford to call home.
Whether you're a young person hoping to stay in the community you grew up in, a family putting down roots, or a longtime resident who wants to remain here, housing shouldn't be what pushes you out of Milwaukie.
More housing options that meet different needs, incomes, and stages of life.
Thoughtful, sustainable development that respects neighborhood character.
Stronger regional partnerships to address affordability.
Policies that expand housing opportunities while protecting current residents.
Getting around Milwaukie should feel safe, no matter how you get there.
A safe neighborhood isn't just about where you live. It's whether you can safely cross the street, get to a bus stop, use a sidewalk, ride a bike, or access a public space.
ADA accessibility upgrades to parks, storefronts, roads, and public spaces.
Better sidewalks, crosswalks, and streets.
Improved transit amenities where possible.
Long-term infrastructure maintenance and planning.
Safer, more connected bike and pedestrian infrastructure.
When local businesses thrive, Milwaukie thrives.
Our local businesses aren't just part of Milwaukie's economy. They're part of what makes this city feel like home. City Hall should understand what businesses need to succeed while making investments that benefit the people who live here, too.
Build stronger relationships between City Hall and local businesses.
Pursue opportunities that bring jobs and revenue into Milwaukie.
Advocate for investments that benefit businesses and residents.
Support policies that encourage responsible economic growth.
Safety starts before an emergency happens.
Public safety works best when residents, first responders, and local government work together. I want Milwaukie to focus on practical solutions that prevent problems where possible while making sure we're prepared when emergencies happen.
Practical, evidence-based approaches to public safety.
Collaboration between first responders and community members.
Greater emphasis on prevention.
Stronger emergency preparedness and community resilience.
More places to gather.
More shade.
More room to belong.
Parks and public spaces are where a city becomes a community. They should be welcoming, accessible, well maintained, and ready for a changing climate.
Protect Milwaukie's green spaces.
Improve park maintenance and accessibility.
Create more opportunities for community events and recreation.
Expand Milwaukie's tree canopy as summers get hotter.
Advocate for accessible public gathering spaces.
You shouldn't need to be a City Hall insider to understand your city government.
Taxpayer dollars should be managed responsibly, with long-term planning and clear explanations of the choices and tradeoffs City Council makes.

Listen.
The best ideas don't come from a campaign website. They come from you.
These priorities reflect the future I want to help build, but they're only a starting point. I want to hear what's working in your neighborhood, what isn't, and what you think Milwaukie should tackle next.
